Redsand Fort inspired local artist Debbie Adams

  • October 2, 2020

Debbie is a local artist from the Isle of Sheppey Kent. Having always loved to draw and paint which has got her through many ups and downs in her life especially with her health.

Debbie attended Rochester Art College 1986 – 1990 and helps at a local art society. She paints with watercolours, pastel and more recently acrylics and mixed media. Her subjects tend to be landscapes , flora, historic sites and animals.

After painting the SS. Richard Montgomery in black and white watercolour. Debbie started to read about the Maunsell Forts history and importance of them during World War 2. The photos and history inspired her into painting both the Shivering sands Forts and the latest one of the Redsand Forts in black and white watercolour.

“I want to carry on discovering and painting important historic sites around Kent. I am thinking of painting the Redsand Army Seaforts in colour too soon. If you would like a print of my painting please contact me on the link below to my facebook page Debbie Adams Arts and Crafts. The structures of the forts have fascinated me and I can’t wait to see them fully restored. Well done Team and keep up the good work!”

We would like to give a big thanks to Debbie for her kind donation to the Project, more on this soon!
